Rome wasn't built in a day, so don't give up on a project or pursuit because you hit a wall. However long it takes, whatever it takes, get the job done. Do or do not, there is no try.

Just ask yourself: if you beat someone in a drag race who deliberately cheated and could have caused you serious harm, would you use that opportunity to take their car and destroy their reputation? Or would you ask only for their respect, knowing that in the not too distant future they may help you hide from a criminal mastermind so that you can get a few  minutes to speak with the mother of the man who killed one of your friends in order to orchestrate the rescue of your infant son? Think about it.
